FAQs

Granite State Landscaping and Stonework, LLC

  • Are you insured?

Granite State Landscaping & Stonework maintains full insurance coverage, including general liability, workers' compensation, and auto/heavy equipment policies. We gladly provide insurance certificates for any project when requested by our customers.
  • What certifications do you hold?

Our team is certified by the Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute and the Drystone Walling Association of Great Britain, which validates our specialized expertise in these crafts.
  • Who will perform the work on my property?

The owner, Rob Laffer, strives to be personally involved in all projects. While smaller jobs may occasionally be handled by a secondary crew, Rob maintains quality control through regular site inspections and oversight.
  • How do you schedule your customers?

We schedule our clients on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that your project will only be officially added to our schedule after we receive both a signed contract and the initial down payment.
  • Do you provide CAD designs?

Currently, we do not offer in-house CAD design services. Most clients approach us with a general concept that we refine during our initial site evaluation. For projects requiring formal architectural plans, we work with a reputable architectural firm we trust.
  • How much does a hardscape installation cost?

Hardscape installation costs vary significantly depending on property access, soil conditions, project dimensions, and material selections. Our pricing structure is based on time and materials rather than square footage. For general reference purposes only: pavers begin at $30 per square foot, stone flagging at $36 per square foot, dry-stack stone walls at $100 per square foot, segmented retaining walls at $85 per square foot, and stone veneer at $85 per square foot. These figures are provided as general guidelines and should not be interpreted as formal estimates.
  • Do I need any permits?

Permit requirements typically depend on your property's location relative to water bodies or wetlands. While standard projects in most towns don't require permits, we always verify local regulations. We can assist with permitting processes, though for more complex projects, we may suggest engaging a specialized permitting or surveying firm.
